Summary of Salary and Benefits for Substitute Teachers

Per Diem Substitute Teacher

Definition: Substitute teacher serving as a day-to-day substitute.
Salary: $100.00 per day
Benefits: None
  Long-term substitute (LTS) appointment after 68th day in same position in one semester (for the remainder of the semester) or 135th day worked in one academic year (for the remainder of the academic year). Eligible for full benefits including individual/family medical (with applicable co-shares) and dental coverage's effective first of the month following LTS effective date. Substitutes obtaining LTS status in the second semester will retain their medical/dental benefits through September 30.

Long-Term Substitute Teacher In-Pool (LTSP)

Definition: Substitute teacher appointed by the School Board to serve in a day-to-day substitute capacity.
Salary: Daily rate of pay (step amount divided by the number of days in the school calendar). Including, if applicable, Previous Employment Credit, Advanced Degree Increment, etc. Compensated for each day worked.
Benefits: Individual basic medical coverage (with applicable co-share); family coverage, prescription coverage, and delta dental available at group rate cost.
  Member of the Bargaining Unit.

Long-Term Substitute (LTS)

Definition: Substitute teacher appointed by the School Board on a semester-by-semester basis to fill in for teachers on various types of leaves. Individual must hold proper teaching certificate in order to be appointed by the School Board.
Salary: Full salary according to Salary Schedule. Including, if applicable, Previous Employment Credit, Advanced Degree Increment, etc.
Benefits: Full contractual and medical benefits.
Member of the Bargaining Unit.
