Member Benefits

In accordance with RI Law, a Declaration of Trust was established in December 1995 thereby creating the Providence Teachers Union Related Health Services Fund ("Fund"). The creation of the "Fund" was also incorporated in the Providence Teachers Union/Providence School Board Collective Bargaining Agreement. The "Fund" is managed by three (3) Trustees (President, Vice President at-Large and Treasurer, all elected officials of the Providence Teachers Union).

The Fund provides fully paid benefits to all PTU members. It offers volunteer benefits paid for in whole or in part by the Fund and provides for payroll deductions to cover the cost of additional benefits selected beyond those paid for by the Fund.

The purpose of the Fund is to offer volunteer benefits to Union members, which supplements the core benefits contained in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. For more information, members should contact the Union office at 421-4014.
